Regina Otero

Interior Designer

Living in different countries and learning about their cultures have been important factors in shaping me as a person and a designer.

My passion has come from traveling, meeting people and being curious about the way they live, learning new ways to transfer beauty and meaning to spaces in need of an identity. I am fascinated in design, fashion and art and the way in which they affect and shape our everyday life, our tastes and ultimately our habitat.

My mission as an interior designer is to understand and manipulate space to achieve coherence between aesthetics and functionality. To view each environment through the lens of the individual, appealing to their personality and emotions, changing spaces into places to live and to ‘be’.

Interior design is not an established theory, it is a constantly changing discipline, shaped by people, their needs and the environment.

Spencer Keeble

Retail Consultant

30 years working in retail, from a full-time shop floor worker to country commercial and sales manager for IKEA in various countries around the world. Retail is my passion along with the people who work in it, I developed a merchandising approach for IKEA along with training every level of sales person within its global organisation, its no use talking the talk if you cant walk the walk.

As country sales manager I led the commercial team to develop strategic sales plans and developed the stores that were the backbone of those plans. Sounds fancy but in the end retail is having a great product, communicated in the right way and shown in the appropriate sales channel to amplify its benefits.

For retail physical outlets this means understanding your products, merchandising them in a way that takes advantage of their benefits and the visitors buying process. We then place them within a store that supports the basic principals of retail, price and quality, volume and margin, quality and inspiration, its simple to say and hard to do, so let us help you.

MY PROCESS

Meeting the client with curiosity, understanding their needs, wishes and connecting to their side of the story. I listen and ask questions to understand the character of the project.

Leaving the first encounter with clarity about what we need to achieve, is key to the success of the project.

The creative process starts with first ideas and sketches presenting a rough proposal. After more discussions, adjustments and reconsiderations we will decide on the direction for the final design. Beauty, Harmony, and Functionality are all under one umbrella. All projects are different, what is right for one is not right for the next one. My strength in leading and managing the project within a timeline and caring for details translates into a successful project. All projects are unique and have their own story, they become personal with a bit of me in each one. The measure of success lies within the client’s enjoyment of the space.

Interior design is not a closed box of theory, it is an ever changing discipline shaped by the people and environment around us.
